Indian Navy has signed an agreement with Sagar Defense Engineering Pvt. 'SPRINT', an initiative to promote the development of niche defense technologies by domestic companies, This Autonomous Armed Boat Swarms is the 50th contract under the 'SPRINT' initiative. Under this initiative, 75 indigenous technologies are to be developed by the industry for the Navy. In such a situation, the Indian Navy is trying to sign the 100th contract by the end of January to further increase its strength.
Sagar Defense Engineering Pvt. Ltd. has the know-how to build the country's first armed autonomous unmanned boat with the capabilities. The Samjhauta Defense India Start-up Challenge (DISC 7) refers to an Indian Navy project of the SPRINT initiative, and the Indian Navy is expected to place an order for 12 systems following the creation of the armed autonomous unmanned boat. By conducting a range of naval and security tasks through our USVs, including high-speed interdiction, surveillance, constabulary operations, C4ISR, and low-intensity maritime operations, the company intends to respond to India's maritime security needs.
