General Upendra Dwivedi becomes Army Chief of Nepal

Relations between India and Nepal are centuries old and strong.  The two countries have land borders.  India is like the gateway to neighboring Nepal.  India is the connectivity of Nepal to the world.  There are also many unique traditions between the two countries, including the appointment of the Indian Army Chief as the Honorary Chief of Army Staff of Nepal.   In the Indian Army, the Gorkhas of Nepal also fight against the enemies and that too with full vigor.  Moreover, neighboring countries give the Indian Army the same respect as Indian soldiers.  Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has arrived in Kathmandu on a four-day visit to Nepal.  On this occasion, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Nepal Army by the President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Poudel.
