Virender Sharaf has been appointed as the Advocate General of Maharashtra.
Governor Jagat Singh Koshiar has appointed Virender Saraf to replace recently resigned Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni.
Birendra Sharaf is the youngest son of former Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice late Dr. BP Sharaf and younger brother of senior advocate Dr. Ashok Sharaf.Birendra Saraf graduated in Commerce from Commerce College, Guwahati.Then obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Government Law College, Mumbai and later his PhD on 'Judicial Intervention in Arbitration in India'.
Sharaf, who was promoted to senior advocate in February 2020, has been practicing law in the Bombay High Court for the past 25 years.He served as the Secretary of the Bombay Bar Association for six years and is currently the Vice-President of the Association.
