A hearing was held in the Supreme Court today in the criminal defamation case related to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. During this, Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has not got any relief. During this, the Supreme Court also refused to hear Sisodia's petition to quash the defamation case. After this, Sisodia has withdrawn the petition from the Supreme Court. During the hearing, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul told Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Manish Sisodia, that if you bring public debate down to this level, you will have to face the consequences. You should have apologized unconditionally earlier. He further said that now prove it in front of the court. At the same time, the judge reprimanded Sisodia's lawyer and said that instead of realizing what the country is doing, you are all making allegations.
During this, Sisodia's lawyer Singhvi said that he did not say anywhere that he (Himanta Biswa Sarma) had received the money. Didn't even say that he is corrupt.

This case was registered in the CJM Court of Kamrup (District in Assam).
