Supreme Court News: The Supreme Court has rejected the curative petition filed for the investigation of the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir in the 90s by the CBI / NIA or the agency appointed by the court.  This petition was filed by NGO Roots in Kashmir.
Earlier in July 2017, the Supreme Court refused to hear this petition saying that it would be difficult to collect evidence in this case after so many years.  The court said that whatever happened to Kashmiri Pandits is heart-wrenching, but now we cannot order an inquiry.  After this, in October, the Supreme Court also rejected the review petition filed in this matter.
It was said in the petition that 700 Kashmiri Pandits were murdered between 1989-98.  FIRs were registered in more than 200 cases.  But in no case the charge sheet was filed, no one was proved guilty.  In the petition, an independent inquiry was also demanded to find out the reasons for non-prosecution in these FIRs.
