Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case: The Congress will soon file a new review application in the Supreme Court against the decision of premature release of six convicts in the case of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. Let us tell you that the Central Government has already filed a review petition in this matter.
Congress sources said, a fresh review application will be filed in the Supreme Court soon, challenging the acquittal of the six convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Let us tell you that on November 11, the Supreme Court had ordered the premature release of six convicts including Nalini Sriharan. The court had given this order on the basis of the Tamil Nadu government's recommendation for remission of punishment for criminals. Apart from Nalini, RP Ravichandran, Santhan, Murugan, Robert Payas and Jayakumar came out of jail after the court's order.Let us tell you that on May 21, 1991, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a female suicide bomber during an election rally in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The female suicide bomber was identified as Dhanu.
