National Desk:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to Arunachal Pradesh in the North-East on 19 November.  PM Modi will inaugurate the state's first greenfield airport in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.  This airport located at Holangi in Itanagar will be known as Donyi Polo Airport.  With this step of the Prime Minister, the distance between the North East states will be further reduced.  With this, it will help in improving the transport system in the North-East.
The foundation stone of this airport was laid by the PM himself in the year 2019 in the month of February.  During this time, the Corona epidemic had engulfed the country completely, but despite the challenges of the epidemic, the work of the airport has been completed in a very short time.
Donyipolo airport will be the third operational airport for Arunachal Pradesh from which many works will be taken up in future.  Including this airport, the total number of airports in North East will now be 16.  Let us tell you that after independence (1947) till 2014, only 9 airports were built in this area.
PM Modi has laid special emphasis on increasing connectivity in the North-East.  Due to this, the rapid development of airports in this area has become possible.  In just eight years from 2014 to now, the Modi government has built 7 airports in the Northeast.
