National Desk:
The name of the new Governor of West Bengal has been announced.  Dr. CV Anand Bose has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal.  This announcement has been made by Rashtrapati Bhavan in a statement on Thursday (November 17).
A press release from Rashtrapati Bhavan said, "The President of India is pleased to appoint Dr. CV Anand Bose as the regular Governor of West Bengal. This appointment will be effective from the date he assumes the office."
Dr. Anand Bose is currently advisor to the Government of Meghalaya.  The appointment of 71-year-old CV Anand Bose comes months after former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected the Vice President of India in August.  In July, Manipur Governor L.A. Ganesan was sworn in as the new Governor of Bengal at the Raj Bhavan.  This was Ganesan's additional charge.  When Jagdeep Dhankhar was the Governor of West Bengal, there was a deadlock between him and the TMC government.
