National Desk:
Aaftab Poonawala: Aftab Amin Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha murder case, was produced in Delhi's Saket court today (Thursday).  Aftab Amin Poonawalla was produced through video conference.  Aftab's appearance was regarding extension of police remand, which was accepted by the court.  Saket court has sent Aftab to police remand for 5 days.  Although the Delhi Police had demanded a remand of 10 days.  A hearing was also held in the court on the application of Delhi Police for conducting narco test.  Aftab has given his consent for the narco test.
Before Aftab's appearance, lawyers protested in Saket court and demanded the death penalty for Shraddha's killer.  Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla said that according to the application submitted by the police, the accused was facing threats from miscreants and religious groups.
Earlier, accepting the application, the judge said, "I am aware of the sensitivity of the matter and media coverage, I also know that people are focusing on this matter."  According to the police, Poonawala allegedly strangulated his 'live-in partner' Shraddha Walkar (27) to death on the evening of May 18 and cut her body into 35 pieces, which he dumped at Mehrauli in south Delhi.  I kept it in a 300 liter fridge at my residence for about three weeks and kept throwing it in different parts for several days.
