Sports Desk:
IPL is going to be the biggest sports league in the world in the coming years.  If everything goes well, then in the year 2027, instead of 74 matches, 94 matches will be played in the IPL.  The BCCI had sold the IPL media rights for the 2023-2027 season at a record price, making it the second most expensive sports league in the world.
The Indian Premier League (IPL), the world's biggest cricket league, will become the world's biggest sports league in the next five years.  The new chairman of IPL, Arun Dhumal, has made this big claim.  Dhumal said that going ahead with new plans is the need of the hour and there is no reason to see that IPL cannot become the biggest sports league in the world.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sold media rights for a record Rs 48,390 crore for the 2023-2027 season, making it the second most expensive sports league in the world.  The NFL is currently the most expensive sports league in the world.  For IPL 2023 to 2027, TV rights were bought by Disney Hotstar and digital rights by Reliance (Viacom).
Dhumal said, 'IPL will be much bigger than what it is now and it will become the number one sports league in the world.  We definitely plan to add new things to it to make it more fan friendly.  We want to give a better experience to those who come and watch it through TV and in the stadium.  If we prepare the IPL schedule well in advance, then fans from all over the world can make their itinerary accordingly.
The first women's IPL will be played in March next year, in which five teams will participate, but the teams have not been auctioned yet.  Dhumal said about the women's IPL, 'We are planning the women's IPL in such a way that new fans join the game.'
