International Desk:
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned as leader of the Conservative Party in Parliament.  However, he will continue to serve as prime minister until a new leader is elected in October.  The biggest reason for this resignation is the appointment of Chris Pincher on the deputy chief whip post on June 30.  Pincher was involved in a sex scandal.  It was only after this that the process of resignations from the British cabinet started.
Prior to his resignation, Johnson said in his address to the nation –" I am leaving the post of Conservative Party leader with a very sad heart.  When the MP elects a new leader, I will also resign from the post of Prime Minister.  Our MPs want that there should be a new Prime Minister.  I respect his wish.  The process of choosing a new leader will start next week."
