 Kapil Sibal left Congress Party: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has left his party and filled the form for the Rajya Sabha elections from the Samajwadi Party.  Kapil Sibal filed the nomination in the presence of SP's national president Akhilesh Yadav.  Kapil Sibal files nomination for Rajya Sabha elections with the support of SP.During this, apart from Akhilesh Yadav, SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav was also present. After filing nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections with the support of SP, Kapil Sibal told that he had submitted his resignation to the Congress on 16 May.  After filing his nomination, Kapil Sibal said, 'I had resigned from the Congress party on 16 May.  I have filed nomination as an independent candidate.  I have always wanted to be an independent voice in the country.  He further said, 'It is important to have an independent voice.  By staying in the opposition, we want to form an alliance so that we can oppose the Modi government.
