An 11-year-old boy from Morigaon has undergone neurosurgery to remove a brain tumor

The first surgery at CNC under GMCH was successfully performed at the newly constructed 'Centre for Cardiothoracic and Neurological Sciences' (CNC) under Guwahati Medical College today.  The first surgery was performed at the operation theater of the Neurosurgery Department of the CN Centre. An 11-year-old boy from Morigaon, Utpal Bardoloi was successfully removed from his brain.The surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Mrinal Bhuyan, Dr. Amrit Shaikia, Dr. Rajiv Hazarika and Dr. Asman Ali, specialists in the department of neurosurgery led by Dr. Basanta Kumar Vaishya, Director (Neurosurgeon) of CN Centre.  The boy  is now in good condition after the surgery and is under medical supervision at the superspecialty hospital.The CN Center was officially inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 9 and the Outpatient Department (OPD) was opened on May 10 morning.  To date, a total of 4,391 patients have received treatment in the outpatient department and 55 in the inpatient department (IPD) of the superspecialty hospital.
