The first ever government engineering college of Meghalaya will become functional next year

“Shillong engineering college of will start functioning from the next academic session,” said Meghalaya education minister Lahkmen Rymbui. 

Rymbui said that “We are doing all that we can to ensure that the functioning of the college begins by next year .The Meghalaya government is taking all possible measures to ensure that functioning of the college begins by next year". 
He added: “The process of sanctioning of various posts is underway and I am hopeful that if everything goes according to plan, we can start the academic session of the college next year.” 
The engineering college is being constructed in the campus of Shillong polytechnic at Mawlai.
