Indian company Zoho has launched a new messaging app called Arattai, which is considered a direct competitor to WhatsApp. Arattai means "chat" or "conversation." Upon launch, Arattai quickly became the number one app in the social networking category on the App Store.

This app allows you to chat directly with people, create groups, send photos and videos, and make voice or video calls. It also offers advanced features like channels, stories, and online meetings, features WhatsApp doesn't offer.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also promoted the app and urged people to adopt indigenous apps. He described it as safe, easy, and made in India.
