Haryana government launched 'Haryana Witness Protection Scheme 2025' for the protection of witnesses

Haryana government has launched the Haryana Witness Protection Scheme 2025, which is designed to provide protection to witnesses and their families in criminal cases. Strict provisions for protection – under the scheme, witnesses are categorized based on the level of threat, and facilities such as surveillance, identity concealment, and personal security are provided for their safety. Three categories (A, B, C) have been created for the protection of witnesses, in which security measures will be determined based on the level of threat.For the safety of witnesses and their families, arrangements will be made for CCTV, alarms, fencing, telephone monitoring, and, if necessary, the provision of bodyguards and PCR van patrols.
