Jomel Warrican shines bright as ICC’s Player of the Month for January

Jomel Warrican clinched the ICC Player of the Month Award for January, beating India's Varun Chakravarthy. Warrican, who was instrumental in West Indies' 1-1 draw in the 2-match Test series against Pakistan, beat Varun's incredible 14 wickets in 5 T20Is against England to claim the prestigious award.

Warrican's recognition was merited, given he picked up 19 wickets on the rank-turners in Pakistan, stopping Shan Masood's side from continuing their newfound home dominance. Warrican registered his career-best figures in the series, where he helped the visitors trump the heroics of Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, Pakistan's best bowlers in the recent past.
