Ratan Tata's assistant and closest Shantanu Naidu worked at Tata Sons for more than six years. Now he will take over as the General Manager at Tata Group's automobile company Tata Motors. Describing his new position on LinkedIn, he wrote, 'My father used to come home from the Tata Motors plant wearing a white shirt and navy pants, and I used to wait for him at the window. Now years later, that place has been built for me, which feels like the circle has been completed.' Let us tell you that Shantanu has an old association with the Tata Group. Mechanical engineer Shantanu Naidu started his career with an internship at Tata Technologies, after which he worked at Tata Elxsi. While at Tata Elxsi, he designed a special kind of dog collar that helped prevent human-animal accidents on the road. This unique project caught the attention of Ratan Tata and he helped Naidu advance this project and his career. Not only this, when Naidu decided to do MBA from Cornell University, the expenses of his studies were also borne by Ratan Tata.
