Andhra Pradesh govt appoints K Vijayanand as new Chief Secretary

K Vijayanand, a 1992-batch IAS officer and Special Chief Secretary in the Energy Department, has been named the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. He  assumed office on December 31, succeeding Neerabh Kumar Prasad, a 1987-batch IAS officer, who retires the same day upon reaching the age of superannuation.

Vijayanand expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu for entrusting him with the responsibility, while also acknowledging the support of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, and outgoing Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad. He pledged to prioritise inclusive growth, focusing on backward regions and weaker sections of society.
