World Postal Day is celebrated on 9 October every year.  The day marks the anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union, a special organization of the United Nations, which was established in  World Postal Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of postal services and recognize the role postal services play in connecting people around the world.  The day also provides an opportunity to celebrate the history of the postal services, their progress, and their contributions to society.
