Gujarat's Jethabhai Ahir (Bharwad) has been elected as the president of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Association of India (NEFED).  Gujarat Assembly vice-president Jethabhai Bharwad is a BJP leader and is also the chairman of Panchmahal Dairy and PDC Bank.  Jethabhai Bharwad was elected unopposed as the president of NEFED in the elections held on Wednesday.  He will replace outgoing NEFED president Bijender Singh.  Congress-affiliated Bijendra Singh was the president of NEFED for a total of 12 years from 2009 to 2014 and 2019 to 2024.  Bijendra Singh will still be among the directors of NEFED.
