Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike launched 'School on Wheels' for children living in relief camps

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike on Sunday launched the "School on Wheels" initiative, which aims to provide education to students who have taken refuge in relief camps in the state in the wake of over a year of communal violence.  Equipped with libraries, computers and sports equipment, the school bus will visit various camps with a teacher.
The Governor, after launching the pioneering initiative at the Bal Vidya Mandir campus in Imphal, said the events that began on May 3 last year affected thousands of people, especially a large number of students from Manipur.
 "School on Wheels' scheme will reach out to students living in relief camps and provide them with necessary education," he said.
