US companies: Major tech companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook have been laid off on a large scale. Due to this, thousands of Indian-American IT professionals have become unemployed. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has given his response on this whole issue.
The White House said that President Joe Biden understands that layoffs can have a direct impact on families. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at the daily press conference on Tuesday, "The president understands very well how the loss of a job can affect the family."
Google had terminated 12,000 jobs worldwide on 20 January. Last week, Microsoft also announced the elimination of 10,000 jobs. Amazon is laying off 18,000 employees. Facebook's parent company Meta is laying off 11,000 employees.
