India's young fast bowler Umran Malik has created history in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.  The 23-year-old Umran broke Jasprit Bumrah's record with his pace bowling at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.  Umran has now become India's fastest bowler.
23-year-old Umran Malik dismissed Shanaka on the fourth ball of the 17th over of the innings.  He wanted to play the shot on the off side, but he caught Yuzvendra Chahal.  Umran bowled brilliantly in the match, giving only 27 runs in 4 overs and taking 2 wickets.  Apart from Shanaka, he also took the wicket of Charit Aslanka.  Earlier in IPL 2022, Umran bowled against Delhi Capitals at a speed of 157 kmph.  Here also he is on top as an Indian.
Apart from Umran Malik, no other Indian bowler has been able to reach the speed of 155 km per hour.  Before Umran, the record of throwing the fastest bowler was in the name of Jasprit Bumrah.  He bowled at a speed of 153.36 per hour.  Whereas Mohammed Shami has bowled at 153.3 while Navdeep Saini has bowled at a speed of 152.85 km per hour.  Recently, Umran had said that he will soon break the record of the fastest ball of former Pakistan veteran Shoaib Akhtar.
