At the inauguration of the third Voice of Global South Summit (VOGS), Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought to rebalance the terms of relations between the countries of the South with a new ideological framework. which he described as a "development compact". The idea behind this concept is to have the equal benefit of five different ways of interconnecting in a harmonious way. These are capacity building, technology sharing, trade for development, grants and most importantly, concessional finance. If well implemented, it will set a new baseline for wider engagement with partnerships in India’s development.
