'You don't need to worry', Jayashankar's two-faced comments on UN comments on elections in India

External Affairs Minister S.K.  Jayashankar has responded strongly.  He stressed that no global body needs to worry about fair elections in India.
 UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' spokesman Stephen Dujarric recently said he hoped that elections in India would protect political and civil rights as in other countries so that everyone could vote in a free and fair environment.
 "We don't need the United Nations to tell us that our elections should be free and fair. I have the people of India," the external affairs minister said while campaigning for Union Minister and BJP candidate in the Lok Sabha elections Rajiv Chandrashekhar  The people will ensure that the elections are free and fair. So the UN does not need to worry about this.
 The US has also twice commented on the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the alleged scam in the Delhi liquor policy and the allegations that the Congress party's bank accounts were frozen ahead of the polls.
