Bharat Ratna: President of India Draupadi Murmu on Sunday honored senior BJP leader LK Advani with Bharat Ratna (Bharat Ratna 2024) at his residence in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu are also present with the President on this occasion.
This year, the Government of India has honoured five eminent personalities of the country with Bharat Ratna for their incomparable contribution. The names of those being honoured include former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, P.V. Narasimha Rao, agricultural scientist M.S. Swaminathan and former Chief Minister of Bihar Karpuri Thakur. Of these, except Advani, all others will be honoured posthumously.
