Northeast Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Date: When will Lok Sabha elections be held in North East states including Assam

The Election Commission has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections.  With the announcement of elections in the country, the code of conduct has also come into force.  Voting will be held in the North East states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya on April 17.  Whereas in Assam, voting will be held in three phases on 17th April, 26th April and 7th May.  Apart from this, voting will be held in Manipur in two phases on 17th and 26th April.  The election results will come simultaneously in the country on four Junes.

In Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma has claimed that the BJP alliance will win 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the North-East.  There are 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam.  Manipur is a sensitive state, hence the Election Commission conducts elections in two phases.  Elections are held in a single phase in the remaining states Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.
