Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced in her interim budget speech that the existing 40,000 bogies of Indian Railways will be replaced with bogies similar to the standard of Vande Bharat trains.  In such a situation, the question is arising that when these coaches will run on the tracks after being developed on par with Vande Bharat standards, will the rail fare become expensive?  Finance Minister Sitharaman has come clean on this.  She said that he does not have the answer to this, the answer will be given by the Railways.
This question was asked to the Finance Minister that the tickets of Vaden Bharat are more expensive than other trains.  In such a situation, keeping in mind the affordability of passengers, what will be the ticket prices of trains with these bogies and how will it be decided?  Answering this question, Finance Minister Sitharaman said, Vande Bharat is a different train, whereas the announcement made in the interim budget says that 40,000 bogies will be developed as per the standard of Vande Bharat.  The Finance Minister said that in high density areas, trains with old bogies cannot run with speed so that better transport facilities can be provided to the people.  The experience inside trains is also not good for the passengers now.  These coaches have become old and their capacity has decreased with time.
