America and Britain have attacked the positions of Houthi rebels in Yemen with Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from submarines and warships.  These are ship based land attack and submarine based land attack missiles.  These missiles fly at high speed at low altitude.  Therefore it is difficult to track or kill them.
 America first used these missiles in Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War in 1991.  There are five variants of this missile.  These are- Cruise Missile, Anti-Ship Missile, Submarine-Launched Cruise Missile, Land Attack Missile, Surface-to-Surface Missile.  Tomahawk missile was created in 1983.
 The weight of the five variants of Tomahawk missile ranges from 1300 kg to 1600 kg.  Length is 18.3 feet without booster and 20.6 feet with booster.  The diameter of these missiles is 20.4 inches.  The wingspan is 8.9 feet.  Nuclear or conventional weapons can be installed in these missiles.
