According to INSACOG data, a total of 610 cases of the XBB.1.16 variant of COVID-19 have been detected across the country.  Eleven states and union territories were sampled for new cases.  According to the data included in the INSACOG report, the highest number of coronavirus cases caused by this variant have been found in Maharashtra and Gujarat, where 164 people have been infected with the new variant.
   Corona is starting to scare India again.  According to INSACOG data, a total of 610 cases of the XBB.1.16 variant of COVID-19 have been detected across the country.  The recent spike in new coronavirus cases may have involved people infected by this variant.
   11 states and union territories were sampled for new cases.  According to the data included in the INSACOG report, the highest number of cases caused by this variant have been found in Maharashtra and Gujarat.  There are 164 of them.  Telangana has 93 cases and Karnataka 86 cases.  The XBB 1.16 variant was first detected in January when two samples tested positive for the variant.  India has been witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases recently.
