In Assam, about 142 people from Christian tribal families have converted to Hinduism.  These people have claimed to have adopted Hinduism with full devotion and faith.
In Assam, more than 142 people from the tribal Christian community have converted to Hinduism in and around Jagiroad Assembly constituency in Assam during the past week.Hindu Dharma Suraksha Samiti led a drive to introduce people to the Hindu community.  The security committee has described it as a homecoming.According to the committee members, people from the tribal community were lured into Christianity, but now all are returning home of their own free will.According to media reports, the men converted back to Hinduism after performing various religious ceremonies, including yajnas, at a program held in Tavisong village on Monday (February 27). About 1,100 family members of the Tiwa tribe have decided to convert to Sanatan Dharma, Goba Devraja Raj Parishad general secretary Jursingh Bordoloi said.  "These people promised to believe in Hinduism," he said.
