Assam-Meghalaya Border Violence: In view of the improvement in the law and order situation in Meghalaya, the Assam Police has lifted the restrictions on the movement of vehicles and allowed all vehicles to go to Meghalaya. Guwahati City Police Deputy Commissioner Sudhakar Singh gave this information on Sunday (November 27).
Guwahati City Police Deputy Commissioner Sudhakar Singh said, "We have allowed all vehicles to enter Meghalaya." Earlier on Saturday (November 26), for the fifth consecutive day, Assam banned private vehicles going to Meghalaya.
It is noteworthy that on Tuesday (November 22) at a disputed site in West Karbi Anglong district along the Assam-Meghalaya border, Assam policemen allegedly opened fire, in which six people were killed. A jawan of the Forest Guard of Assam was also included in those who died. According to reports, a truck loaded with illegally cut wood was stopped by forest officials from Assam. During this, the policemen of Assam allegedly opened fire.
