Solicitor General Tushar Mehta will lead India in the annual review meeting of the UN Human Rights Council

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta will lead the Indian delegation from India's side in the UNHRC review meeting to be held in Geneva from November 7 to 18.  The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Wednesday (November 9).  The steps taken by India for the protection and promotion of human rights will be reviewed on 10 November.
According to the statement, the 41st session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group will be held from November 7-18 at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.  India's national report for the fourth UPR round will be reviewed during this session on November 10.
It states that the Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta will lead the Indian delegation.  It includes Secretary (Western) in the ministry, Sanjay Verma, Permanent Representative of India Indramani Pandey, KM Natraj, Additional Solicitor General of India, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development,  Senior officials of NITI Aayog and Vice Chancellor of National Law University, Delhi will attend.
