National Desk:
The difficulties of Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia are increasing continuously. On the one hand, he has become a close government witness made an accused in the Delhi Liquor Policy Case, on the other hand, an Assam court has also summoned him to appear before him. This summon has been sent to him on a criminal defamation petition filed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Sisodia had alleged that in the year 2020, the Assam government had given a contract to the firm of Chief Minister Sarma's wife to supply PPE kits at a rate higher than the market rate. Sisodia had appealed to the Guwahati High Court to dismiss this petition, which has been rejected by the High Court.
According to the Advocate General of Assam Devajit Lon Saikia, Sisodia will have to appear before the court on November 19. He told that the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kamrup district has summoned Sisodia on the petition of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
According to Saikia, Sisodia had filed a petition in the Gauhati High Court requesting that the case filed against him be closed. The High Court has also dismissed this petition.
