Demand for judicial inquiry into Morbi accident, Supreme Court will hear on November 14

Morbi Bridge Collapse: The matter of death of about 140 people due to bridge collapse in Morbi, Gujarat has reached the Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court will hear on November 14 the demand for setting up a judicial commission to investigate the incident.  The petitioner has also demanded a security assessment of old buildings across the country.  In the petition of lawyer Vishal Tiwari, it has been said that the truth of the incident will come out with the formation of a judicial commission headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court.  Tiwari requested Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit to hear the matter soon.  The Chief Justice said to put the matter for hearing on November 14.
In this petition, there has been a demand to conduct a security assessment of heritage buildings across the country.  Along with this, there has also been a demand to create a special department in every state to look into the matters related to the security of buildings.
