The state government has launched an app and portal to inform the younger generation about Lachit Barphukan.
 The web portal and app, named Lachit Barphukan, was launched by the Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma on Wednesday to mark the 400th birth anniversary of the heroic soldier.
 The app and portal was launched by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma during a press conference at Janata Bhawan.
 The CM said 'the people of the state will celebrate Lachit Divas on November . This day is a milestone this year.  The 400th birth anniversary was launched at Kalakshetra, where it was inaugurated by former President Ram Nath Kovind.  I want to launch a special program today to help the new generation learn about Lachit Barphukan.  Where people can write for Lachit Barphukan. 'The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister will launch the book on Lachit Barphukan's birth anniversary.  The documentary film about Lachit Barphukan has started.  Amit Shah will inaugurate the project on November23 .  This documentary will be shown on national and international channels in the next phase.
