The government does arrest those who take bribes of Rs 5,000-10,000, but does not register cases against those who embezzled Rs 155 crore.This is the serious allegation of former National Register of Citizens (NRC) coordinator and retired IAS officer Hitesh Deb Sharma.
“After bribes Rs 5,000-10,000, they were arrested and photographed with their hands outstretched to claim credit for the government.  There is no case registered against the person who digested Rs 155 crore.'Earlier, former NRC coordinator Pratik Hazela was accused of embezzling large sums of money.In May this year, Hitesh Deb Sharma had filed a complaint against Pratik Hazela and some officers and employees involved in the NRC updating for allegedly committing criminal and anti-caste acts.
