Diesel prices go up during Puja season, what does the CM say about the price hike..?

Diesel prices have gone up in the state during the Puja season.
The state government has increased VAT on diesel.The state government has increased VAT on diesel by 2.05 per cent per litre.
Diesel prices rose to Rs 86.95 per liter in Guwahati.Diesel was priced at Rs 84.94 per liter on Friday.Earlier, VAT on diesel was 14.64 per cent.VAT on diesel will now be 16.69 per cent.
The directive came into effect on Saturday.
Dr.Himanta Biswa Sharma said in a statement that ," petrol and diesel prices are the lowest in the country in Assam and Meghalaya.  Petrol and diesel prices in Assam will be equal to those in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh."
Earlier, the state government had exempted VAT on diesel.  Earlier, the VAT exemption on diesel was 2.4 per cent.  Withdrawing the notification of July 30, 2022, the VAT exemption will now be 1.92 per cent.
