The Metropolitan Transport Department (MTD) has issued a stern warning to ride-hailing platforms like Ola, Uber and Rapido after an Uber driver abused a national woman journalist and her colleague in the city.Addressing the media, Transport Officer Himanshu Kumar Das said that not all drivers are money oriented and some drivers pay attention to the needs of the customers. The entire cab service is being blamed for a number of cab drivers mistreating customers by asking for more money, canceling trips or denying payment methods. Any inappropriate attitude towards customers will no longer be tolerated. Cab drivers will not be able to charge additional money from customers.”Das added, “The negligence of the cab association authorities results in incidents where customers face danger. From now on, cab drivers will have to follow strict rules. Any cab driver who violates the rules will have his license revoked.”
