 News Desk :
Assamese comedy film 'Local Utpat', directed by Kenny Basumatary, has earned more than Ranveer Singh-starrer Jayeshbhai Jordar and Dr  Strange in the first week.  Local Utpat is the latest Assamese film to win at the box office after Mission China, Kangchenjunga and Ratnakar.  Mithali Films distributor Sukanta Paul confirmed and said, "100% it has sold the best of the three films. The public demand was so high that shows were extended in almost all cinema halls.
Local Uprising has now entered its second week in most theaters.  The film has got 97 percent public rating on Bookmyshow.com.  However, many people have shared that they have already seen it more than once.  Viewers have also said that they have finally got a chance to laugh out loud for two hours straight after two years.  Director Kenny Basumatary said, "I am extremely grateful to the people of Assam for making our film a hit."
"We were optimistic about its success, but the public's response has exceeded our expectations", Kenny said.  The first week box office collection of the film is estimated to be around Rs 40 lakh, of which almost half will go to theatres.  "The best part is that I don't have to approach anyone for money for my next project, and I'll be able to make it exactly the way I want it without any interference," Basumatari said.
