Union Home Minister Amit Shah is arriving in Assam on a two-day visit. The Union Home Minister is coming to Assam mainly to attend the anniversary celebrations of the Himanta government. Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in Assam on Sunday night, will take part in a series of events on Monday. In order to ensure the safety of Amit Shah, the Kamarupa District Administration has enforced Section 144 (Section 144 imposed in Guwahati) in Guwahati. Section 144 prohibits gatherings of more than five persons in some parts of Guwahati. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhakar Singh under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code prohibits gatherings, movements, demonstrations, processions and slogans of more than five persons in the entire East Police District of Guwahati.
