Assam & Meghalaya CMs meet Amit Shah on border issue

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, on Thursday evening, met union home minister Amit Shah. The meeting was held at Amit Shah’s residence in New Delhi. Assam and Meghalaya chief ministers submitted recommendations of the regional committees on border dispute to Amit Shah. Both Assam and Meghalaya chief ministers will be called for another round of meeting with officials of the ministry of home affairs after January 26. 
 Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma told that ,"Union home minister Amit Shah listened to the representation given today. He told us that now home ministry will call us again for a meeting with officials after January 26, to take the discussion forward”.Six out of 12 areas of difference will be taken up for resolution in the “first phase” to bring an end to decades-long Assam-Meghalaya border dispute. The areas of differences to be taken up for final settlement in the “first phase” are: Hahim, Gizang, Tarabari, Boklapara, Khanapara-Pillingkata and Ratacherra.
