Govind Mohan appointed as next Home Secretary

The Union government has appointed Govind Mohan, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, as the new Home Secretary.  He will replace the current Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla.  Ajay Bhalla's term expires on August  It was believed that Ajay Bhalla would get his fifth consecutive service extension, but the central government has appointed Govind Mohan as the new home secretary.  The central government issued the order on Wednesday evening.
