WHO launches MeDevIS platform for medical device information

The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched MeDevIS (Medical Devices Information System), an online platform designed to be the first global open access clearinghouse for information about medical devices.  It aims to help governments, regulators and users make informed decisions about the selection, purchase and use of medical devices for the diagnosis, testing and treatment of various health conditions.MeDevIS contains information on 2301 types of medical devices, which address many health issues like reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health, cancer, heart disease, non-communicable diseases like diabetes and infectious diseases like COVID-1  This extensive database helps guide healthcare providers and patients through a growing and complex range of medical technologies.
