Doordarshan channel DD Kisan broadcasts news and information for farmers in the country. The channel is now embracing the Artificial Intelligence (AI) wave. DD Kisan is preparing to bring two AI anchors on its channel. The move will see it become the first state-owned TV channel in India to introduce AI-powered digital human replicas to present news and information. AI Anchors are being introduced to mark the nine years of DD Kisan. The channel was launched on May 26.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the two new AI anchors have been named AI Krish and AI Bhoomi. The duo will make their first appearance on DD Farmer on Sunday, when the channel will be celebrating its ninth anniversary. According to the ministry, the anchors can speak 50 Indian and foreign languages.
