Kartik Aaryan In Chandu Champion: Kartik Aryan has emerged as a brilliant actor in recent times. Kartik Aryan will now be seen in the most awaited film 'Chandu Champion' directed by Kabir Khan. This film will be released on the big screen on June 14. 'Chandu Champion' is based on the life of India's first Paralympic gold medal winner Murlikant Petkar.
Murlikant won the individual gold medal (Paralympic Gold Medalist Murlikant Petkar) in the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Heidelberg, Germany. He also created a world record in the 50 meter freestyle swimming event by taking a time of 37.33 seconds. Murlikant Petkar was also a Craftsman rank soldier in the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps of the Indian Army. He was shot by bullets during the war against Pakistan in 1965. Due to these wounds, he lost one of his hands and then changed his career to swimming.
Apart from swimming, Muralikant was also interested in other sports, such as javelin throw, slalom, table tennis and shot put in the 1972 Paralympics. In table tennis, he also passed the first round at the 1968 Summer Paralympics. He won silver medal in javelin throw and bronze medal in shot put in the third Commonwealth Paraplegic Games held in Edinburgh, Scotland. In view of his many achievements, the government honored him with Padma Shri in 2018.
