UNSC Veto Power: Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has supported India for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).  Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that at present India is a leading country in terms of economic development.  Soon the population of India will be more than that of any other country.  India has vast diplomatic experience in solving various kinds of problems.  That is why India should get permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Let us tell you that earlier in September this year, while addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had said that the Security Council would be more democratic if the countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America are included in the UNSC.  India and Brazil, in particular, are major international players and should be given permanent membership in the UNSC.
Explain that India is presiding over the 15-member United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in December.  India's External Affairs Minister S.  Under the chairmanship of Jaishankar, programs are to be organized on December 14-15 for signing multilateral reforms and counter terrorism policy.  The first event, organized under the title of 'Maintaining International Peace and Security', will see a ministerial-level discussion in the Security Council on 'New Guidelines for Multilateral Reform'.
