The devastating floods in the Barak Valley this year may have never happened in the last 50 years.The floods have forced many people to flee their homes and take refuge in camps of Shilchar and other areas.  The Bharat Sevashram Sangh has been providing services to the flood victims taking refuge in the camps.The Sevashram Sangha has been providing cooked food , drinking water, dry food, baby food, candles and other essential items to about 10/12 thousand people daily since 2/7/22.The ashram has accommodated about 3,000 people in two schools. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma visited at Silchar tommorow and said that the service should continue as long as necessary.Swami Sadhananandaji Maharaj, on behalf of the ashram, expressed his views, "Yes, we will continue this until people are able to return home. From tomorrow onwards, we will arrange for the distribution of bleaching powder and medicines."
