Vijaya Rahatkar becomes the chairperson of the National Women's Commission

Former Maharashtra Women's Commission chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar has been appointed as the new chairperson of the National Women's Commission.  Vijaya Rahatkar was previously the chairperson of Maharashtra State Women Commission from 2016 to 2021.She has been given this responsibility in view of her role in social work.  Vijaya Rahatkar is also the first woman from Maharashtra to achieve this feat.  She hails from Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra and has previously served as BJP Mahila Morcha president and BJP co-in-charge in Rajasthan.
